Illustrator Kathleen Kemly lives and works in Seattle, WA.
A Michigan native, Kathleen has aspired to be a children’s book illustrator since third grade. She studied illustration and graduated from Parsons School of Design (NYC).
Kathleen has illustrated numerous books, magazines, and posters. Her illustrations are executed in watercolor and pastel. Her pastel paintings have been exhibited in Seattle.
Kathleen has worked with middle school children as an artist-in-residence. She enjoys visiting schools and loves talking to children about the art of illustration.
Ms. Kemly is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and a recipient of the Seattle Arts Council Arts in Education Grant.
Kathleen lives with her husband and has two grown sons. They like to hike in the mountains, ski and spend time outdoors. Her beloved menagerie of pets includes a fat tabby cat and a flock of chickens.
